ELASMOTHERIUM – DORAEMON: NOBITA AND THE ISLAND OF MIRACLES
“Doraemon: Nobita and the Island of Miracles – Animal Adventure” (2012) is the 32nd Doraemon movie, following Nobita and his friends on an adventure to a mysterious island full of strange creatures. The film features the Elasmotherium, a giant prehistoric rhinoceros, and delivers a strong message about wildlife conservation and environmental protection.
THUNDERING RHINO – KUNG FU PANDA 2
“Kung Fu Panda 2” (2011) continues Po’s journey as the Dragon Warrior. Following the first movie’s success, Po and the Furious Five face off against Lord Shen, a ruthless peacock warlord wielding powerful weapons that threaten to destroy Kung Fu itself. Along the way, Po uncovers the truth about his past and finds the inner strength to defeat Shen and save China. In this installment, we meet Master Thundering Rhino, the former leader of the Kung Fu Council, who protected the grand city of Gongmen after Lord Shen was exiled for his crimes.
FLYING RHINO’S ARMOR – KUNG FU PANDA 3
Thundering Rhino was trained by his father, Flying Rhino, a legendary Kung Fu master. Though only briefly mentioned in the film, Flying Rhino left a strong impression with his imposing battle armor, which he once wore in a fierce battle against enemy forces in Guangdong Province.
KOMODO RHINO – AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER
“Avatar: The Last Airbender” follows Aang, a 12-year-old boy and the last surviving Avatar, the only one capable of bending all four elements. After being frozen for 100 years, Aang awakens to find the Fire Nation has taken over the world. Alongside Katara and Sokka, Aang embarks on a journey to master the elements and defeat Fire Lord Ozai to restore peace. Throughout the series, we encounter the Komodo Rhino, a Fire Nation creature with a distinctive rhino-like horn. These beasts are used for war, labor, and even as a food source for making Komodo sausages.
THE GOLDEN RHINO – THE SMURFS
“The Smurfs” is a classic animated series based on Peyo’s comics, featuring tiny blue creatures living in a hidden village, constantly on the run from the evil wizard Gargamel and his cat, Azrael. Led by Papa Smurf, each Smurf has a unique personality, such as Smurfette, Clumsy Smurf, Brainy Smurf, and Jokey Smurf. Together, they embark on humorous yet thrilling adventures to protect their village. In season 9, we meet Rahdu, a special baby rhino in the episode “The Golden Rhino.” As a “golden rhino,” Rahdu has the magical ability to turn anything it touches into gold with its golden horn. It is one of the closest animal companions of Prince Pricari, the son of a king and queen from a small South African tribe.
LIGHTNING RHINO – SCREECHERS WILD!
“Screechers Wild!” is a 2018 Chinese animated series set in a world where vehicles can transform into powerful creatures using special energy called “Screecher Discs.” Lightning Rhino is one of the most formidable Screechers, capable of transforming from a truck into an armored rhino with incredible speed and destructive power. It plays a key role in battles, helping the heroes gain an advantage over their enemies.
